Individual Detained On Mackinac Island For Trying To Climb To Governor's Summer Home

Governor Whitmer’s office confirmed yesterday (Thursday) an individual was detained and escorted off Mackinac Island in late August for trying to climb the bluff beside the governor’s summer residence.

The man told Whitmer’s security detail he had also been photographing the home from a nearby road the day prior.

The same individual had also previously been spotted at several of Whitmer’s events.

He was not arrested in the incident and has not been charged with any crimes.
