New DC Studios CEO, James Gunn, believes an issue with the franchise so far was every movie felt too similar. Gunn had this same criticism with Marvel movies these last few years, the problem is DC has been trying to make their movies feel different. The issue has always been a lack of creative oversite of the franchise.
