At 47:47, hear the harrowing tale of Pritam Kaur, a Punjabi mother in 1969 Coventry, England, unknowingly subjected to illegal radioactive experiments by the MEDICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL. Prescribed chapatis for migraines, she was taken to the Atomic Energy Research Establishment, where the ominous clicks of machines hid a dark secret.

Uncovered in the 1990s by reporter Sukhbender Singh and filmmaker John Brownlow, they revealed that Pritam and 20 other women were part of a larger scandal involving hundreds of British citizens, including pregnant women, secretly experimented on in AT LEAST 70 instances. Rare cancers developed; babies died.

John Brownlow's film "Deadly Experiments" exposed this scandal, but the government's response was dismissive, ignoring long-term effects on babies. Pritam's trust was shattered, and the language-barrier exploited for "consent" added to the betrayal. Despite coverage and demands for inquiry, the unsettling claim of ongoing experiments and the UK's muted response continue to add to the horror of this story that must not be forgotten.
