From Books to Nude Statues—What Should Be Banned?

At London’s Speakers’ Corner, Peter Boghossian engaged three participants with the claim, “Some books should be banned.” The group discussed whether pornography should be available to children—and one participant opposed it being available at all.

The conversation quickly moved from the censorship of books to other morality-based social restrictions, from women wearing hijabs to nude public statues. One man, a Muslim, shared his views regarding social responsibility to protect people from harm. He claimed Western women have higher rates of depression than Muslim women because of the lack of modesty in Western cultures.

The conversation concludes with a consideration of who might be going to hell.
