In the year 1692, the Salem witch trials were raging. People were accusing their neighbors, friends, and even family members of witchcraft. In this atmosphere of fear and hysteria, no one was safe, not even animals.

One of the most shocking cases of the Salem witch trials was that of a dog named Black Dog. Black Dog was owned by Bridget Bishop, the first person to be executed during the trials. Bishop was accused of witchcraft by several people, including her own husband.

During Bishop's trial, several witnesses claimed to have seen Black Dog transform into a demon. One witness said that she saw Black Dog choking a baby. Another witness said that she saw Black Dog flying through the air.

Based on these accusations, Black Dog was also put on trial for witchcraft. He was found guilty and sentenced to death. On June 10, 1692, Black Dog was hanged alongside Bridget Bishop.
