Critics of Disney Star Wars | VICIOUSLY ATTACKED

Critics of Disney Star Wars have been VICIOUSLY ATTACKED! Andres Cabrera, geeks of color writer, recently made a claim that critics of Disney Star Wars movies and television shows are white supremacists. And, he directly talked about us.

Welcome back to EBN, where we are live every saturday night at 7pm cst. How dare anyone criticize disney star wars, in any capacity. And to do so, you will be labeled as a white supremacists, racist, mysogynist, and anything else that you can imagine. I’m going to give you the details here, but its important that you watch the entire video because we have an important conversation at the end, where we respond to this writer, who attacked us.

In the vast online landscape of Star Wars fandom, a writer by the name of Andres Cabrera has recently made some controversial claims. As a contributor to Geeks of Color, Cabrera has asserted a perplexing connection between critics of The Walt Disney Company's Star Wars movies and television shows, and the troubling ideology of white supremacists. In other words, he is saying that if you don’t like disney star wars, then you are a detriment to the human race. Critics of Disney Star Wars

A recent post on X, Cabrera boldly stated, "A lot of people forget this but there is a direct correlation between the white supremacist crowd and the unbridled hatred of the Star Wars Sequels." According to him, he witnessed the infiltration of the Star Wars fandom by those seeking to spread messages of hatred. Critics of Disney Star Wars

Cabrera goes on to provide specific instances to TRY to support his claim. He points out that the initial wave of criticism targeted The Force Awakens, particularly fueled by racist sentiments towards a Black stormtrooper as one of the film's leads. However, when this approach failed to gain traction, he suggests that the critics shifted their focus to misogyny, directing their vitriol towards the character of Rey. Critics of Disney Star Wars

Cabrera highlights the coordinated efforts of these critics, emphasizing that they came from the same origins as those who initially protested against a Black lead in a Star Wars film. He argues that the backlash grew stronger after The Last Jedi, with critics adopting more subtle and seemingly reasonable talking points, cloaking their contempt in a more palatable manner.

Interestingly, Cabrera suggests that this sentiment continues to spread within the Star Wars community, especially as Disney churns out more Star Wars television shows on their streaming platform, Disney+. He claims that the negativity extends to characters like Reva in Obi-Wan and the perception of "too many female characters" in Ahsoka, blurring the lines between regular fandom and the more toxic corners of the community. Remember folks, if you don’t like something, then you are toxic. That’s the new way they define it at least. Critics of Disney Star Wars

Sensing the need to clarify, Cabrera acknowledged that not every dislike or disappointment in recent Star Wars projects equates to being part of the worst elements in the fandom. After all, i’m sure he doesn’t want to come across as crazy, right? However, he stresses the existence of a distinct portion that engages in bad faith arguments, presenting their messaging as "just speaking the truth." Critics of Disney Star Wars

To support his claims, Cabrera links to an article that he believes provides evidence of this connection. That article, from rewriting ripley, includes us! Here’s what they think about us: In December 2020, Star Wars actor Mark Hamill unknowingly linked to a video by Echo Base Network, an alt-right YouTube account. In the tweet, Hamill referred to the YouTubers (as well as similar alt-right YouTubers who were exuberant over the return of Luke Skywalker in the finale of The Mandalorian’s second season), “true fans.” The host of Echo Base Network was on his Parler account the month before Hamill’s tweet spreading dangerous conspiracy theories that the United States election had been rigged.

Rewriting Rpley claimed that the hate became the narrative over the actual value and achievements of Disney Star Wars, and that this is exactly what people who organize the hate wants, and of course sby saying the people who organize hate means, us.

Finally, It is worth noting that the rewriting ripley article had been previously debunked. Cabrera concludes by highlighting the rise of online grifters who exploit Star Wars as a fertile ground for cultivating hateful ideologies, targeting an eager and passionate fanbase.
