Contrary to popular belief, the Israel-Palestine conflict is often misconstrued as an age-old religious feud. In reality, though religion plays a role, the root of the conflict lies in the clash between two groups vying for the same land. Its origins can be traced back merely a century, to the early 1900s. At its core, this conflict revolves around two self-determination movements: the Jewish Zionist project and the Palestinian nationalist project, both staking their claims on the same territory.
