Former President Donald Trump has been hit with a gag order that restricts him from talking about the special counsel targeting him in its criminal investigation and any person tied with the prosecution, including judges and witnesses. But more than that, it restricts him from talking about the content of any potential testimony.
Since the case is about allegations that President Trump encouraged the Jan. 6 protests, this will also tie into whether he actually believed the 2020 elections were stolen. This means President Trump could now be fined, or even imprisoned, if he talks about witness testimony related to Jan. 6, the 2020 elections, or election fraud. And this extends to President Trump directing other people to make statements like this, suggesting that even his campaign staff, his advisers, and others around him are held to the gag order as well.
