In this amazing interview with George Lucas from 1999 by Academy of Achievement (link below), we found a comment that explains the ongoing failure of Disney Lucasfilm in its attempt to make good Star Wars. From The Last Jedi to The Mandalorian to Andor to Ahsoka and even to something as simple as a hotel like the Galactic Starcruiser, they have not been able to create success.
