Iran Warns Of ‘Pre-emptive Action’ Against Israel

Iran issued a warning on Monday of a possible “pre-emptive action” against Israel “in the coming hours,” as Israel prepares for a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Tehran has consistently cautioned that a ground invasion of Gaza could trigger a response from other fronts, raising concerns of a broader conflict that might involve other nations.

In a live broadcast to state TV, Iran’s foreign minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, mentioned his meeting with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday and stated, “The possibility of pre-emptive action by the resistance axis is expected in the coming hours,”

Earlier on Monday, Iran’s top diplomat and president, Ebrahim Raisi, emphasized the need for a political solution and warned against the escalation of the Israel-Hamas conflict into other areas, Barron’s reported.
