Don’t let the desert fool you, @brycecanyonnps_gov is bursting with color.

This @nationalparkservice park is known for expansive ground-level views but, from above, the park looks like a green island in a red desert. Scientists use @nasa satellite data to see the park from a different perspective. This helps park rangers like Sophie Krautmann protect the park’s diverse wildlife and its geological wonders.

Video Description:
Panning shot of hoodoos, rock formations in red and orange hues, in Bryce Canyon National Park. Standing along the rim of a canyon, a female park ranger is dressed in her official National Park Service gray and green uniform and a wide-brimmed hat. More shots of the hoodoo rock formations, in some places interspersed with trees. Cut to a satellite view of Bryce Canyon, a green swath of land surrounded by a red desert landscape. The video shows shots of frozen pale blue waterfalls, purple and yellow flowers, other satellite images of the park and videos of the hoodoos taken from below.
