Idaho's Transgender Bathroom Law Gets the Go Ahead from Federal Judge

A federal judge has allowed Idaho's transgender bathroom law to go into effect, after it had been temporarily blocked. The law requires public schools only to allow students to use bathrooms and changing facilities that correspond to their biological sex and implement a civil penalty for districts that don't.

Those on the left have criticized the law as being discriminatory against transgender students. The judge wrote in his decision that legal precedence shows the state has a legitimate interest in protecting privacy when it comes to bathrooms and other changing facilities.
