Federal Judge Tanya Chutkan imposed a partial gag order on former President Donald Trump in his criminal election interference case in Washington, D.C. The order prohibits Trump and other parties from making public statements targeting Special Counsel Jack Smith and court staff. The ruling grants some of the restrictions requested by Smith, who is prosecuting the federal case alleging Trump's attempt to overturn his 2020 election loss.
