EP.750: Indian Elections-Narendra Modi’s BJP Wins LANDSLIDE Victory Against Rahul Gandhi’s Congress
On this episode of Going Undergroud, we speak to Sanjay Jha, the National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress about the humiliating defeat his party suffered at the hands of the BJP, how the Congress Party will come back, the BJP’s economic failings, it’s threat to minorities, the constitution and democracy. Next we speak to Ram Madhav, the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the BJP’s landslide win and it’s implications on Indian society and the world, allegations of Islamophobia and quasi-fascism, relations with Pakistan and how India will conduct international relations with a new Cold War between Russia and the US and a rising China. Finally we speak to Max Blumenthal of the Grayzone Project on his new book ‘The Management of Savagery’, detailing the West’s history of promoting radical Islam for geopolitical goals, Syria and the latest chemical attack allegations and the situation in Idlib, the US’ increasing sanctions on Venezuela and their destructive effects on Venezuelans and more!
STATEMENT FROM THE PAKISTANI HIGH COMMISSION:
"Pakistan itself is a victim of terrorism and suffered both in terms of losses to human lives and its economy. We have lost more than 70,000 citizens including over 6,000 soldiers and economic losses, to the tune of US$ 120 billion. Pakistan also has its concern with regard to terrorism vis-a-vis India.
Pakistan remains committed not to allow its territory against any country. Prime Minister Imran Khan in his recent public messages to the Indian leadership has called for dialogue and resolving all outstanding issues, particularly, Kashmir dispute, to bring peace and prosperity in South Asia.
We remain committed to peace with all our neighbours and beyond."
STATEMENT FROM EMBASSY OF CHINA:
China's principle and position on the Kashmir issue is clear. China has repeated many times that the CPEC is an economic cooperation initiative which targets no third country. It has nothing to do with territorial sovereignty disputes and will not affect China's stance on the Kashmir issue.
