King Artaxerxes authorizes Ezra and any other Jews the opportunity to travel back to Jerusalem. He gave them everything they needed. When they arrived, they made sacrifices and committed their lives to the work of God.

Soon after, sin crept into their lives as many had intermarried with pagans. Ezra sets an example of how we should deal with sin in our lives as he seeks God through fasting, humility, and prayer.
