Blow for Expats in Thailand as Government Ends Major Tax Break

Expats in Thailand have long benefitted from the country's territorial tax system. The country was promoted as a tax haven, and new residents charged tens of thousands of dollars in fees for residency with the Thai Elite Visa scheme.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. The Thai government has announced that income from all sources will be taxed starting from January 2024.
