Murrieta USD - October 12, 2023 - Why We Can't Tell Parents, Students Are Sharing Facilities

Beyond protecting the privacy of the affected student(s), which is understandable, Andrus says that he / they cannot inform the parents by making a general statement that there is student(s) sharing facilities n their district.

If a general statement like this would be made, the parents would then be able to make their decision based on the facts and not based on “the rumor mill” that the students may or may not be sharing facilities and if they take issue with that they can have the child rescheduled to a period that doesn’t (yet) have students sharing facilities.

The question must be asked, if they can’t make a general statement regarding students sharing facilities, why can’t they make this general, non student specific statement like this?
