Ellen Pompeo has been on every single episode of Grey’s Anatomy since it first aired over 20 years ago. But out of all of her character Meredith's highs and lows, what was Ellen’s least favorite scene to film?
Ellen Pompeo revealed one of the scenes she disliked the most from the medical drama was in the second season when her character, Meredith Grey stands in front of her love interest Derek Shepherd, begging him, “So pick me. Choose me. Love me."
The actress spoke during a recent Actors on Actors interview with former co-star Katherine Heigl on her thoughts of being against this iconic speech which made Meredith sound like a "pick me" girl.
The idea of begging a man on TV was so embarrassing! To her surprise, it then turned out to be one of the most famous scenes from the show. Kathrine assured her that she thought the scene was beautiful. During their Actors on Actors session Katherine Heigl and Ellen appeared to still be on good terms despite the drama that happened behind the scenes during Grey’s and even joked with each other about how times have changed.
Also, with a new generation of fans coming in, Ellen’s daughter shared that her entire sixth-grade class had seen the show except her. So Ellen agreed to re-watch the show with her daughter. Ellen was amused when she found out through her daughter that a “pick me” girl partially originated from her character. Did you enjoy her iconic scene?
