Constructed in 1994 at the confluence of the Cispus and Cowlitz Rivers, Cowlitz Falls Hydroelectric Project helps bring affordable, renewable, and reliable electric power to Lewis County. The benefits do not end there though; recreational and scenic opportunities abound, made available by this Project.

Cowlitz Falls is the third dam on the Cowlitz River above Tacoma Public Utilities two Cowlitz River Projects that form Mayfield Lake and Riffe Lake.
