Judges were Sheriffs in the Bible

A clip from the first episode of my podcast about the Hebrew word Shofet. A Shofet in Hebrew denotes both a charismatic leader/savior and also a judicial office. I think that the English word “Sheriff” is a better translation because it can denote both a Judicial office in some parts of the world, and in other parts of the world, it can denote the hero of a western movie or a cop.
