Mortal Kombat™ 1 contains 15 chapters, which are divided into four acts, telling a story that takes place in a new era created by Fire God Liu Kang after he took control of the Hourglass in a previous game. Each chapter focuses on a single character from the series and contains a combination of fights and extended cut scenes. In the final chapter, player has an option to choose a character.
