MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB) – A Middletown couple was charged after going on a racist tirade against landscapers, according to police.

The tirade was caught on video and circulated on social media, the city’s mayor said.

Authorities said 62-year-old Robert Shaw and 58-year-old Sharon Bourgeois-Williams, of Frisbie Street, were each charged with disorderly conduct.

They were charged with disorderly conduct because their “hostile behavior prevented one employee from moving freely in the roadway,” police said.
