In the previous chapter, Paul used numerous contrasts to make his point. In one example in particular, Paul contrasted those Judaizers who reject Messiah with those who embrace Messiah and His Ways: (Rom 6:14 NASB) For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace. Most Christian preachers and theologians claim that this passage means the law has no “jurisdiction” over you. However, the first verse of this chapter states the very opposite.
