France bans Free Palestine demonstrations, protesters respond by vandalizing Statue of the Republic

France's interior minister banned all pro-Palestinian demonstrations in response to an increase in antisemitic acts since Hamas' weekend attack on Israel.

Paris police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse pro-Palestinian demonstrators who defied a ban and demonstrated against the Israeli government on Thursday.

Since Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday, the French government has reported 24 arrests for more than 100 antisemitic acts, including verbal abuse, people caught with knives near Jewish schools and synagogues, and a camera-equipped drone detected over a Jewish cultural center.

Over 2,000 instances of antisemitic speech were reported to an online watchdog group.

While European nations lecture the West about anti-Semitism online, their own nations are spiraling out of control in experiencing anti-Jewish hate incidents.

President Emmanuel Macron urged the French to prevent the conflict in the Middle East from escalating domestic tensions.

"Let us not bring ideological adventures here (to France) by imitation or by projection. Let us not add national fractures ... to international fractures," Macron pleaded. "Let us stay united."

It appears to be a little too late for France to 'stay united.' The Western European nation should have considered the problems of national disunity before it recklessly imported nearly 6 million migrants from the Middle East and North Africa.
