Hamas' armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced on Monday evening its intent to respond to Israeli bombings of civilian residences without prior warnings. The group stated that for each new Israeli bombing of a civilian home without pre-warning, they would execute an Israeli civilian captive.

Abu Obaida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, conveyed this message through a recording released to Al Jazeera. He explained that they had made this decision to halt such actions and declared that any targeting of their people in their homes without prior notification would result in the regrettable execution of one of the civilian hostages they were holding. It is reported that the group has captured over 100 individuals, including women and children, since the clashes began on Saturday.
