You’ve probably seen or heard a million advices when it comes to relationships. It seems like everyone is an expert and everyone knows what’s best for you, but in reality, relationships are much simpler. It isn’t rocket science and there is only one important ingredient - being your true self.

It is very important to remember to remain honest to yourself about what your intentions are. We tend to forget about our wants and needs the moment we enter a relationship. There is no need to turn 180° just to please the other person. Remember, they fell in love with you because of who you are and all of the potential you bring, imperfections and all. Same goes for the other way around. If you shouldn’t change, you shouldn’t ask the other person to change. You give and you get, but you never take forcefully.

Another relationship myth is that you shouldn’t argue and that is wrong on so many levels. Worse than not arguing is keeping everything bottled up until it explodes and creates even greater damage. It is important to give your opinion, whether the other person likes it or not, this makes your relationship stand on even ground. Just try to keep a cool head and evade an escalation of the problem and chances are, you’ll have a healthy and loving relationship for years and years to come. Check out these 5 relationship myths and tell us what you think in the comments down below.
