It was 2002 when their daughter was entering her first year of college. In August, the young woman got a meningitis shot, and by Thanksgiving, was spending “a lot of time in the hospital, in and out of ERs.” According to the injured girl’s parents, “The hospital…didn’t know what to do with her.
