Survey: 60% of Catholics Call Themselves 'Religious and Spiritual' | The Download

Many consider themselves pious but few attend Mass.

A recent study (https://apnorc.org/projects/people-without-a-religious-affiliation-lack-faith-in-organized-religion-not-in-spirituality/) found 60% of Catholics call themselves "religious and spiritual." This may seem strange, considering other studies have found only about 1 in 5 Catholics bother to go to Mass on Sundays. Why would a large number of Catholics call themselves "religious and spiritual," when so few of them even come close to practicing the Faith?
