This morning we made breakfast by using up our spelt sourdough bread, using purchased local pasture-raised farm eggs, and cooking it all in homemade ghee. The little rounds that are left over from making the "bird's nest", or as some say "eggs in a basket" can be toasted in your pan and topped with your favorite jam. Ghee can be made in the Ninja foodie on the bake setting as long as it is on the lowest temperature for an hour and a half. You simply take 2 lbs. of unsalted butter and let that separate while it "bakes" (cooks rather) and then strain your ghee into your pint jars. You will end up with two pints of ghee for every 2 lbs. of butter. This is the money saving tip for sure!
