In today's Gospel, St. Peter questions what they'll gain by following Christ. Christ's message is clear: by dedicating ourselves to God, we receive everything, whether in monastic or married life. Both paths lead to sanctity through selflessness and service. Comparisons are futile; our focus should be on the Lord. Regardless of our chosen path, we're called to leave self-interest behind and live for God and others. In doing so, we're on the path to holiness and eternal life.
