In this episode the chicken coop tower gets an old fashioned lime plaster roof!

Hi - We are Douglas and Keri! In May of 2022 we quit our jobs and sold our home in Denver, Colorado to move to our 36 acre off grid homestead property in Cochise County, Arizona. Follow along with us as we build our homestead from scratch!

The roof of the chicken coop tower is going on! We decided to use a simple lime mixture of sand, dirt, and lime. Doug has been slaking the lime in water and using that to mix it together. Interestingly we had a pretty good rain after he put the first layer on and not much of it washed off...keeping it wet while curing helps it to cure harder. This went over the 1/4" hardware cloth on top
