Rain and high winds batter central Florida with Hurricane Irma

7 Action News' Matthew Smith reports from Tampa during Hurricane Irma has high winds and strong rain battered the area on Sunday evening. Irma made landfall in the Florida keys on Sunday morning before again making landfall on Marco Island on Sunday afternoon and moving up the west coast. By Monday morning, the storm had weakened from a Category 4 to a Category 1 storm as it hit northern Florida and moved into Georgia and South Carolina.
