PARISH DEVELOPMENT MODEL : GOVERNMENT TO GIVE ADDITIONAL 20M/= TO EMYOOGA GROUPS

The government through the Microfinance Support Centre is to give an extra 20 m/= to excelling Emyooga groups and Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations-Saccos across the country.
According to the state minister for Microfinance Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, these additional funds are meant to boost the seed capital for the beneficiaries. Kasolo said that he has been directed by the President to give out additional funds to groups that have adhered to the program guidelines.
He made the remarks during monitoring and education meetings on the Presidential Initiative on Wealth and Job creation and Parish Development Model programs in Katakwi district in Eastern Uganda.
The Vice President appealed to Sacco leaders to open up doors for new members because each financial year money is going to be added to each.
She called upon those who borrowed money from saccos to pay back in time so that other members can benefit from the Emyooga funds and also be able access the additional sh20m every financial year.
