‘Horrendous ’: Fears Israel’s current government ‘unable’ to manage war against Hamas

Former Israeli ambassador to Australia Mark Sofer says there is a wide belief that Israel's current government will not be able to handle the war against Hamas.

Mr Sofer joined Sky News Australia to discuss the delicate situation in the country and what political implications may arise as a result of this war.

“We do expect some sort of emergency government and I stress emergency rather than national unity government,” Mr Sofer told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“This particular government is unable or will not be able to manage this horrendous situation on its own without the experience of former chiefs of staff that exist in the opposition parties.

“The political situation will stabilise for the next period of time while the war is going on but of course, what will happen afterwards is anyone’s guess.”
