Opening a 46 year old Ammo Crate! Unsure of the ammos origin. Was it 7.62x39 or 7.62x54R?

Opening a spam can of Ammo. I bought this at a gun show and was told it was 7.62x39. However, with no clear markings of 7.62x39 I was unsure what ammo it actually was. I also broke the box :( OOPS! What do you think I should have paid for this ammo?
