FYI regarding disposables….

Below is a rough estimate for the number of disposable pads a person might use in their lifetime:

- An average menstrual cycle is about 28 days.
- The average person menstruates for around 40 years (assuming menarche starts around age 12 and menopause occurs around age 52).
- If we assume an average of 4-5 days of menstruation per cycle, this amounts to roughly 60-70 days of menstruation per year.
- Using approximately 4-6 disposable pads per day (this can vary widely), an individual might use 240-420 disposable pads per year.
- Over 40 years of menstruation, this could equate to 9,600-16,800 disposable pads used in a lifetime.

Even if we can all use cloth pads for a couple of days out of each cycle (honestly that will change super fast) that could make a significant difference to the harmful toxic waste that is dumped in landfills each year and in turn help improve our health and will be a financial investment for years to come.
