A sarabande is a court dance from the 17th and 18th centuries. Set exclusively in triple meter, the dance requires a slower tempo. Debussy was drawn to older forms and sonorities, always recasting them with his unique melodic and harmonic language.

This is an arrangement by Richard Byrnes for 5 Violins, 2 Violas, 2 Celli & Contrabassoon.

It may be purchased at sheetmusicplus.com and sheetmusicdirect.com

In addition to works by Debussy, we offer works by J.S. Bach, Brahms, Dvorák, Fauré, Glazounov, Glinka, Gottschalk, Granados, Griffes, Lotti, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Ravel, Richard Strauss, Turina, & Vierne.
