Let's talk about garlic! This is one of my favorite things to grow so let's get into some details about the varieties of Garlic we grow and how we grow it!
Building nicely formed garden rows is new to us, now that we have a Kubota LX2610 tractor we are able to manage a larger scale garden and this row builder is a game changer! I am a fan of using drip tape and woven fabric to help manage weeds and maintain good watering.
It's important to plant your garlic in the fall, allow it to vernalize over the winter and then harvest it in early summer.
This year we are growing Music Garlic, Red Russian Garlic and Elephant Garlic.
We like to add compost to the rows and till it in. This year we are also adding some garden lime to push the PH of the soil up a bit and some Azomite to re-introduce some of those depleted trace minerals.
