Exploring The Worlds Last TRUE Wilderness! [Ep. 127]

We wake up to a wind shift pushing us onto a dangerous lee shore in Patagonia. The kelp has wrapped our anchor...OH NO! Nope...just a normal DAY IN THE LIFE while sailing on our yacht here in one of the worlds most REMOTE PLACES! We fight our way against storms, wind, rain, hail, snow, waves, and current as we sail through Chile and around the world.

This is what real expedition and adventure sailing is like. No one else is here, as far as we know, we are the first and only YouTube Sailing Channel to sail and film these waters. There are no instagram models, bathing suit photo shoots, and pig beaches. This documentary series is a real adventure by two hardcore sailors from the USA, on a mission to explore the world by sailboat, around it and crossing oceans!

Here is a little more about us:

We sold everything in the USA in 2019. We bought a boat and spent six months re-fitting it in a boatyard in Rhode Island. Inspired by the OG sailing channels such as SV Delos, Gone With The Wynns, and Sailing UMA, we left on the 4th of July to sail away and explore the world.

We wanted to do something a bit different though. We bucked the catamaran trend and bought a fast performance cruising monohull. Many people said we couldn't make it around Cape Horn in our J Boat. We proved them wrong! We are pretty sure we have the perfect sailboat (almost) for doublehanded cruising, especially for sailing upwind in the challenging fjords of patagonia.

So, while all the other fair weather sailing channels like Expedition Evans, Chasing Latitudes (do they even count as a sailing channel?), and Sailing Doodles are floating around in the Caribbean and Bahamas in their bathing suits, at the boat show, creating drama, breaking their boats, making little squalls look like storms, taking photos in their bikinis (real offshore sailors don't wear bikinis btw, they protect themselves from the sun), and really not doing much of anything (we get it, its easy money and can't blame them). We have sailed two transatlantics at an average speed of over 7 knots 100% doublehanded, sailed around Cape Horn twice (our sailing dog Roxy provided moral support and protection from birds!), and did three extensive boat re-fits over the course of four years sailing and living off the grid.

We were not professional video editors, we were not filmmakers. We didn't even set out to make a new YouTube channel, we just wanted to go sailing. We are learning new skills every day. Our goal now is to show how sailing around the world really is. Not a fake documentary which glosses over the difficult parts. This is reality. This is how sailing really is. We hope we inspire you to truly challenge yourself and accomplish your inner goals. You can do anything you set your mind to! Please join us on our journey as we show you how to sail around the world the hard way :-)
