Deputy Sheriff Shane Lang unexpectedly passed away due to a heart attack after undertaking a physically strenuous task. While on duty, he removed large tree branches obstructing Highway 156 in New Hope, Tennessee. Although he initially felt unwell, his condition deteriorated the next day. En route to a call, he felt increasingly worse and headed to Parkridge West Hospital in Jasper. Tragically, he suffered a cardiac arrest there, and medical professionals couldn't revive him. Deputy Lang's service record spanned across multiple agencies: nine years with the Marion County Sheriff's Department, earlier stints with the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office, and the Florida State Department of Corrections. He leaves a loving family, including his wife, five children, siblings, and eight cherished grandchildren.
