Surat Al-Masad, also known as "The Palm Fiber" or "The Flame," is the 111th chapter (surah) of the Quran, the holy book of Islam. It is a short surah consisting of just five verses (ayahs). Surat Al-Masad is a Makki surah, meaning it was revealed in Mecca before the Prophet Muhammad's migration to Medina.

This surah is unique in that it addresses an individual, specifically the Prophet Muhammad's uncle, Abu Lahab, and his wife, Umm Jamil (also known as Abu Lahab's wife). It is a condemnation of Abu Lahab and his wife for their opposition and hostility toward the Prophet Muhammad and Islam. The surah highlights their arrogance, disbelief, and their ill fate in the Hereafter.
