My Metal Melting Crucible Broke Inside My Furnace

I was melting metal the other day using my indoor electric melting furnace. It wasn't a good day... My Metal melting crucible broke inside of my furnace. I was unable to pour out the molten aluminum. I had to wait until the following day to remove the remainder of the crucible and the aluminum. Metal Melting is very dangerous. Make sure you are wearing proper ppe when melting metal. If molten metal was to spill and hit you it will do serious damage.Show more

From now on I will be measuring the thickness of my crucible before every use. This will be a way to safely know the crucible will be okay when metal melting.
