Chasing Surges in South Miami and the Tesla Temptation

In this Saturday vlog, I kick off immediately after wrapping up the second episode of my "Red Chair Podcast" with the talented photojournalist, Gaston. As I navigate the streets of South Miami, I find myself amidst a flurry of surge demands, with UM students rallying to the football game. My rides are short but plentiful around South Miami and Coral Gables. However, a cloud of contemplation looms: Is it time to rethink the Tesla rental? Conversations with fellow Uber drivers suggest that the game has changed, with Tesla Premier and Comfort rides surging in demand. The day feels unusually heavy, with a long podcast recording and the realization of the booming rides market. Taking a brief respite at my parents', I find myself reflecting on global issues with the news of unrest in Israel. Recharged after a power nap, the night doesn't seem to let up with a surge at the airport and a concert by Christian Nodal in downtown Miami. Yet, despite the hustle, there's a nagging sentiment: Is it time to upgrade my Uber experience? Maybe it's the dawn of a new era for my Uber journey.
