Libya Poised To Be Next ISIS Stronghold

In the wake of its defeat in Mosul and with its status uncertain in Raqqa, Syria, all eyes should be on Libya as ISIS next safehaven and operational stronghold. Since the fall of Gaddafi, extremist groups of all stripes have risen to wreak havoc and chaos throughout the country. As such they have provided a deepening recruitment pool that has already paid dividends for ISIS operations abroad, and the country hosts valuable oil fields and remote regions where operatives can recoup and reorganize.
