Video shows special needs child walking in middle of metro Detroit highway

New video causing a stir online shows a special needs boy walking down the middle of I-696 in Oakland County. It happened on Tuesday on I-696 near Coolidge Highway. The study has special needs and he apparently walked off a school bus and right down the middle of the busy freeway. Some people ran after him and video shows the traffic stopped. A driver who came across the child shot the video and sent it to 7 Action News. Right now, police are not confirming if the boy is OK or what exactly led up to the incident, but we will follow up with them to get any new information.
