What's the Heat Initiative? We are a group of child safety organizations, advocates and those who have experienced child sexual abuse that agree it's time for APPLE to make the choice to start detecting known child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in iCloud. Waiting continues to put children in harm's way, and prevents survivors from healing.

Please read our open letter to Apple. To date, over 9,000 emails have been sent to Apple leadership asking for this change. On September 21st, we drove LED trucks around key Apple stores in Boston, New York and DC during the launch of the iPhone 15 in stores. Last week, we sent binders of publicly available cases we'd researched of child sexual abuse involving iCloud and Apple devices to Apple's board and the leadership team.

As expected, however, we are starting to see push back from Apple in the form of surrogates in the press. We need all of you. Please join us and add your name. Let us all come together and protect our children.

Today’s reality is that we must all become Digital Warriors. The Internet is broken. How does this affect you and your children? You must inoculate your children against these lurking online predators always looking for a vulnerable child. The predators hang out where the children and young adults are and today, this is online. You must begin building digital trust in your own home with your child.

Five Easy Steps:

1. Daily communication with your child
2. Build trust so your child will come to you about anything, including sexual dialogue and pornography they may see online.
3. Don’t over-react. Instead engage, educate and empower your child against predators.
4. Know everything about online platforms that your children frequent including FB, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and Gaming Apps.
5. A MUST: Use safety filters on your children’s phones, tablets, laptops, computers and all digital devices in your home.

We live in a chaotic digital world. Build trust on the ground and meet your children where they are. Build digital trust. It all starts with communication in your home.
