Backyard Karaage or Japanese Fried Chicken - BBQ Recipe and Tutorial!

Welcome to the Mothership! I love fried chicken, and I love Asian food. Japanese fried chicken, aka Karaage, is a staple of bar and street food in Japan. Lets make some up on our backyard fryer! This style might produce some of the crispiest fried chicken I've ever made!

Ingredients:
~3.5 lbs Chicken Thighs (bone in and skin on)
Potato Starch (or Corn Starch + All purpose flower)
Kewpie (Japanese) mayonnaise (optional)

Marinade:
1.5 tsp fresh ginger
3 cloves smashed garlic
2 Tbsp Sake
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1 Tsp Sesame Oil
