Whoever does end up there is going to have the same problems because you can't deliver the side. The kind of rapid change that these guys throw temper tantrums over, and much of what they said was just not true. And a part of it is now. [Matt] Gaetz hates [Kevin] McCarthy, but the underlying problem of having not just the eight who voted with the Democrats but about 20 members who want basically legislation that can't pass.

And so if they don't get it, they vote no. And then the legislation that could pass can't pass. I think this is a real challenge, and I'm not quite certain how the next few months are going to work out. And I think that to have eight Republicans side with 208 Democrats is just about as bad a thing as I've seen in politics and just about as big a betrayal of the Republican Party as I've seen.
