2023 Nobel Peace Prize winner is Narges Mohammadi, Iranian activist

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded Friday to Narges Mohammadi, an imprisoned Iranian human rights activist. She is the fifth person to receive the prize while incarcerated.

Norwegian Nobel Committee Chair Berit Reiss-Andersen said the prize was awarded “for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all.”
