Officers were responding to a call of drag racers at 95th and Ewing. Drag racers were driving extremely reckless and had laser pointers pointed at other officers on scene. When backup officers arrived on scene they found an unknown masked offender trying to get on top of an occupied marked squad-car.

The masked offender was obstructing of the duties of the officers, who were inside the vehicle, by not allowing them to do their job of dispersing the large crowd. The first officer gave verbal commands to the arrested offender, 19-year-old Jordan Novorita, to get off the vehicle. Novorita did not comply to the verbal commands. At this point, the officer performed an emergency takedown.

Novorita began to resist arrest by flailing his arms, stiffening his body, kicking erratically to evade arrests. Novorita resisted 4 officers while trying to be handcuffed.

Officers were able to overcome Novorita flailing arms, stiffening of his body and kicking to detain him.

Novorita was placed into custody.

He was transported to the 4th district station for processing. Novorita asked to be taken to the hospital for his injuries suffered to the mouth and nose and in stable condition.
